Bring in your own charts and maps

If you have a map nobody else ships, NavGPS will carry it. Import it once and it sits in the layers list beside topo and satellite. The file type is .mbtiles, which is what most downloadable map files come as.

Steps

  1. Get the file onto the phone
    Save it to Files, or AirDrop it from a computer.
  2. Import it
    Map tab → layers → import, and pick the file. NavGPS checks it is a real map before accepting it.
  3. Switch to it
    It appears in the layers list beside topo and satellite.
  4. Remove it later
    The same sheet deletes it and reclaims the space.

Worth knowing

  • An imported map lives on the phone, so it works offline from the moment it lands.
