See what's coming before it arrives

NavGPS pulls the NWS forecast for your position or the map centre, and overlays animated national radar so you can see which way a storm is moving rather than only that one exists.

Steps

  1. Open weather
    Map tab → the weather icon in the left tool column, for the forecast where the map is looking.
  2. Turn on radar
    In the layers sheet, switch on Weather Radar. Precipitation draws over the base map.
  3. Watch it move
    The loop runs the last 15 minutes in five-minute steps, which is enough to read the direction a cell is travelling.

Worth knowing

  • Forecast and radar both need a connection — they are live data, so neither works in Airplane Mode.
  • Radar covers the United States.
